I have had my C5 in my garage for the last couple months now... Today I decided I was going to take it out for a drive and found the battery dead... I put it on a charger and charged it overnight, today I get a HARD clicking sound... It almost sounds like the solenoid trying to engage but not quite sure... Anyone else heard anything like this?
All of the electrical items in the car work, lights, windows, etc...
Just trying to eliminate some things before I try to remove the starter...
I would check that before I went ANY FURTHER. Put it in third gear and have some friends push it forward. Observe the damper and make sure that you can see it rotate several revolutions to make sure that the engine isn't HYDRO LOCKED!!! Just a sanity check that will save you a LOT of money
As far as the battery it is an Optima Red Top due to the excessive stereo equipment in the car... I also have 2 more batteries in the rear... So I am pretty sure I have power...
I do need to see if I can get it in the air at home here and check the starter wire out tho...

Thanks for the input guys....
Don't forget your dmm. Make sure your getting 12 volts at the starter.
Battery, is it holding 12.7 after you charged? Turn on everything , fog lights ac fan etc test voltage again at the battery.or try to start it, I bet the lights go almost out when you try to crank it.
