Okay guys...another issue. Car ran fine all day yesterday, then I noticed squeaking...got louder, popped the hood and realized my serpentine belt was literally fraying itself. The ac belt was also beginning to fray. Replaced bother belts to make it home, but am trying to figure out what could be causing this. I just replaced the harmonic balancer/damper..could it be possible it is not on straight? I don't know how that could be possible. It was tightened and torqued to proper specs..When I first bought the car, the serpentine and a/c belt shredded, and I replaced the tensioner pully and ac pullies because they went bad. What could be causing this repititious problem? Are they indeed linked or is it just a coincidence? Please give me some feed back.
I agree with the others. If the pulleys all spin then the only other thing that will cause this is the pulleys not in line. If both pulleys are going bad then it has to be the balancer! Both pulleys have that in common

If you didn't replace the balancer bolt everytime you removed it it will be loose causing the same problem.
I say 90 percent chance its the ballancer not set all the way too.
Any of the pulleys could be off. I had one that kept happening to and it turned out that the AC pulley wasnt seated all the way back. (Tick Performance found it after another shop couldnt)
I didn't read the posts but this is what I am experiencing my balance has come off twice now I thought I used enough Torque to tighten it but clearly I didn't..... I went though 2 belt tensioners 4 belts so this time I will surely crank it to 265LBS my bolt right now is finger loose like the only thing holding it in is the rack so I am not touching the car

WHAT BOLT ARE YOU USING???????
Are you using a stock OEM bolt? Or are you using an ARP Bolt??
Something is for sure messed up. The OEM Bolt is a ONE TIME USE Torque to Yeield Bolt. Once its torqued in place,, if you remove it, it can NOT be reused other than to properly seat the damper on to the snout AFTER you use the proper damper install tool to get it on the crank. I made my own:
The procedure for properly installing it is critical for proper operation and reliability.
If your not using an AFTERMARKET bolt and retightening the OEM one that is already installed,, that is your issue.
