Default Performance brakes?

I'll be attending my first track day at Gingerman Memorial Day weekend. Right now I have stock pads, but I imagine they are going to be destroyed by the end of the day. So I am looking into replacement pads. I autocross and intend to get a few more track days this season.

I've heard good things about Hawk so I looked at Hawk pads, they have a HP Plus pads that are supposedly high-performance street pads and race worthy. But I am concered. I've heard their that the dust on some of their pads is corrosive and eats your paint. Also those pads are expensive, about the same price as Carbotech Panther Plus pads, which I are more race oriented and will probably hold up better on the track. The downside to the Panther Plus pads is that they weren't meant for the street, and I are louder and cause sparks (though I've heard of "comprimise" pads catching on fire too).

Does anyone have any experience with these or other high performance pads? I don't really want to have to keep swapping pads when I go to the track, since the Corvette is such a pain to jack up. On the other hand, I don't want noise pads throwing sparks while driving on the street either.

HP pads are great for the track. Stock Rotors dont hold up for track applications though. I guess you have to find that out for yourself.
