Default Strange Column Lock Issues

Hello all,

I have a very strange column lock issues with my 2002 Coupe

Situation:
Car was put away for the winter and battery was on charge.
A couple of months ago I started the car up and noticed that the hatch would release when you put in the key in the ignition or release when you pulled out the key. Also got the dreaded "Pull Key, Wait 10 seconds" and the "Service Column Lock".
I assumed the battery voltage may be low so it was being finicky so I left it on charge.

In preparation, I bought the CLB kit from Corvettes of Houston.

The column was physically locked so we tried to shake the wheel get it loose. No dice. Tried removing the clamshell and tapping on the column lock assembly while turning, nothing. Started the car... pulled fuse #25 while running and put it back in. Didn't help again.

Got crafty and cut the pin of the column lock and voila it was moving freely however, no change. Still had the Column Lock on the display and fuel cut past 2mph. The car apparently had the recall performed (04006). Looked for the K-harness and could not locate it.

Installed the CLB anyway and no change. Used the cigarette lighter and it pulled the CL (what was left of it). Still no change.

Wondering if it is anyway BCM or ground related. The hatch releasing everytime the key is put in our pulled out is strange.
Forgot to mention that I also went and got a new battery. Didn't help.

The codes in the system:
BCM: B2573
SDM: U1064 U1096
SCM: 1064 1096
BO-RFA: U1000 U1064 U1096

Please help out if you have ANY insight! Spent the whole day messing around trying to figure it out.

Thanks!

The person you need is forum member 8VETTE7. He's the expert on the column lock system and knows a lot more than anyone else about it.
