I ordered some valve seals from RockAuto and when they arrived I noticed they are all brown, whereas ive read that the OE's are brown for exhaust for higher temp resistance im assuming and black for intake. Is it ok that these are all brown? Anybody had problems with a/m valve seals?

GM valve seals have different colors for the intake & exhaust.
Exhaust is brown.
Intake are black & should be slightly more pliable than the brown ones.
I believe Rock Auto gave you all exhaust seals & I wouldn't install them
on the intake side, untill certain.
Good luck.

Are the seals ok to use then? I specifically bought these ones as in the photo it showed 8 brown and 8 black. The part number on the bag is matching the photos, however they are all brown.

Mine were all brown too. That was 3 years worth of track use ago. Go ahead and stick them on.
Ok, question for you guys regarding the Viton seals. I changed 4 springs this morning, and I guess I did not notice until the 3rd spring that the valve seals were not tight. What I mean by this is they can be easily pulled back off without any force and I am afraid that with valve operation they will continually slide up the valve stem. I have tried to use a 12 or 13mm socket, i cant remember which, to push the seal on. No matter how hard I push it does not matter. I even tried to tap with a hammer and that did nothing as well.
I am considering putting my OE 140k mile seals back in as I have intentions of swapping on some 243's next winter.
Ideas?
UPDATE: I think something is up with either the Viton seals or my 853 heads. After further looking at the seals and taking another cylinder apart, it is found I have some wrong seals. I only have 8 seals that work, and they replicate the look of the exhaust seal. The other seal that has a full length rubber inside has a much bigger inner diamater of almost .5mm by my micrometer. So basically I only had enough seals that fit nice to do one head.
