Hi All. I had A/C compressor changed on 2001 a few months ago. The compressor works well and the car gets very cold. However, at times I hear a noise from the compressor. It' kind of a squeek and is usually heard at startup. The noise lasts for various amounts of time and is heard mostly with the compressor on. Any idea why I'm would be getting this noise?
I am thinking the belt might be doing it. Spray something on the belt (I use wd40) and see if it silences it. If not then the clutch on the compressor might be going bad. I know the compressor is faily new but it still might be the problem.
what brand of compressor did you put on? new or remanufactured? from what i've heard, a new Delphi compressor is the only sure way to go. anything else can be a gamble.
that being said, it's most likely one of the other ac pullies or the belt.
