Default intake upgrade question

im going to ditch my ls1 intake. so question is should i just scoop up an ls6 intake? i keep reading about the TPIS modded ls6 intake with and ls2mm opening. is that a waste of money?

It depends on your mods or planned future mods. If you already have a LS6 intake then it's not a bad idea, but the cost to get one ($325-$375 used up to $500 new) and then have it modded ($350) could be more than a FAST.with that said I have seen 2 for sale in the last month 1 was $400 that I missed and the one I got was $575 shipped. I'm hoping to get in on next week.

Here's my opinion, for what it's worth. An LS6 intake on a stock LS1 will net a few extra HP. IMO not worth the added $$. The TPIS set-up (I have one) will really shine combined with other mods (heads, cam, headers, etc). My advice is don't dump the $$ into a premium intake unless you have / plan to add the other mods.

I agree. Unless you plan on adding mods to make the engine breath better (heads and cam and headers,, spending gobs of cash on an LS2 style manifold TB or a FAST 90 wont add much other than a lighter wallet.

Once you add those mods (and tuning) the mod increases manifold volume and breathing capacity and it excels!

The LS6 manifold is a good solid improvement.

I home ported my own FAST 90 and with heads and cam. it supports an easy 450 RWHP
