I was wondering if anybody else has this issue and can i fix it myself?I drive at high speeds often, lately the trans has been slipping only in overdrive at high speeds, shifts thru all other gears normal.650hp on stock auto c5 trans.A friend in germany told me the pads heat up?? and need to be replaced, apparently all auto trans run at high speeds have this issue in germany.Anyone hear of this?
What year?
Check codes yet?
Look for P1870. Transmission component slipping.
Was an issue on 2000 year and earlier. It was an issue with the valve body valve that controls torque converter lockup.
Also, you have a ton of power for a stock trans.
Its a 1999 no trouble codes,to my surprise the trans has held up to this horsepower for 2 years and I've been hard on it at the track.I've priced some re manufactured trans online, thats the direction I'm gonna go.I can pick 1 up for $1300 which surprises the hell out of me.Thanks for the input.
