Transmission Rebuild Time?
Well, I’m pretty sure my 2nd gear clutch pack is toast, or almost toast. Symptoms:
1. In Drive or Overdrive starting from zero, the shift time between 1st and 2nd is lllloooonnnngggg.
2. If I put it into 2nd gear manually from either 1st gear or a higher gear, take the revs to about 2k and jump on it, I get revs, but no go, initially. The go will come, but only after a couple of seconds.
3. All other gears seem to function normally. The shift from 2nd to 3rd is crisp and TC locks up at about 40-45 mph without a shudder or anything else that might not feel normal.
Checked fluid level as per manual and that was fine. Dropped the pan and found zero metal shavings. Refilled the fluid as per manual and symptoms persist.
Located in Winchester, VA. Anyone know of a good tranny shop close to me?
