My car has been in the chevy hospital going on 7 days :cry they can't figure out the problem that the IPC displayed . I even brought it in while it was showing all sorts of dislay errors like "reduced engine speed", Tire sensor ", Shock Absorber, low fuel ,etc.... The right side passanger window and door lock was also inoperative  Now the dealer serviceperson is saying someone from GM may come out and look at the car and if he determines my exhaust I added on may have voided the waranty I am out of luck And they will put a block on that whatever that means doesn't sound good
Shoulld I go rescue her and put the stock exhaust back on?
 Not sure what that has to do with the computer?? This happenened something similar 6 months ago and they replaced the ignition switch.
Re: 7 days , Still no solution re: Error messages (TicketBait)
Sounds like a bunch of BS, exhaust has nothing to do with anything, but I would take the car to a more friendly Corvette (Chevy) dealer. Try Cormier or Classic Chevy, Classic even installed a head and cam package for one member.
Re: 7 days , Still no solution re: Error messages (TicketBait)
I have a feeling that some members will jump on this. You need to get a copy of the Magnuson-Moss Act (spelling?). I.E. the dealership can't void your warrenty if your engine blows up and the only bolt on you have is an exhaust system.
Someone tell me what an exhaust system does that effects the passenger side window? This is a bunch of BS. :mad :cuss

Sounds like a bunch of BS
There was a thread a few weeks ago about this very subject (total warranty cancellation because of mods) and I believe it referenced the law that makes this illegal - of course your exhaust from you modification back would not be warranted by GM
Re: 7 days , Still no solution re: Error messages (TicketBait)
Chevrolet now offers and installs aftermarket exhaust. (corsa) What are they gonna say that the new louder exhaust screwed up the computer? File a complaint with GM and the BBB against that schmuck dealer and send the car to a dealer that knows what the heck they are doing. :mad :mad
Re: 7 days , Still no solution re: Error messages (JTE)
JTE, I have the factory cats still, (didnt change any 02 sensors) ,I have an x -pipe and then a Route 66 by B&B that I had modified that by adding two actuators that open and close the cut outs. The cutouts function off of a vaccum created from the Brake vaccum.
The company that installed it ran tubing from the brake booster to where the cigarette lighter use to be and then on back through the middle console to the trunk area. Where the cigarette lighter use to be is a switch to activate the cutouts. It has worked properly for over a year. In order to have the extra two pipes come out the back I had to remove that part of the trunk just below where the 12 disc cd player is. All orginal exhaust and trunk bib was kept.
When I had the car dynoed there was virtually no change in horsepower with the cut outs opened or closed. Actually lost 1 HP and was told this is probably due to less back pressure.
The only other mod I have done is european tail lights installed about 6 months ago. No horsepower increase with this either
Re: 7 days , Still no solution re: Error messages (TicketBait)
Other than tapping into the vacuum, I see no other potential hang ups. Even if the cutouts weren't operating correctly, that wouldn't explain the problems. Do not take a back seat to anything that the dealer personnel say. You are the customer. Take control. They must prove and substantiate any claims that the exhaust mods CAUSED the problem. I agree with the above possibilty that the battery may be leaking damaging the PCM and wire harness. Although, you would think that they would have checked that. But, nothing surprises me about dealers anymore. You may want to consider audio taping all future conversations if you decide to take legal remedies. Good luck and keep us posted.
