Not likely, but you could have loose or corroded connections on the battery cables or the red wire on the starter solenoid that connects the alternator, starter solenoid and battery 12v all together. Either the battery or the connections are causing the voltage to dip low enough to affect the cd player. Have you noticed any settings defaulting, like the HUD defaulting to oil temp when you set it to fuel last time you drove? Those type things could mean your battery isn't up to snuff. If the only time you have any trouble is when you press both switches at the same time, I would tend to agree with the "don't press both at the same time".

How old is the battery? Have you checked both the battery and starter solenoid connections? I mention the starter solenoid because this is where the battery, starter and alternator all come together.
