Default FAST 78mm Install

Ok I know it isnt a 90 but I got a really good deal on a FAST 78 and now I can still use the ported throttle body. I do have a few questions though that relate specifically to the 78.

Where can I get the valley cover bolts. Is that a FAST only component or are there others that will work?

Will oem style gaskets work in case it needs new one?

Will oem manifold bolts work to attach it to the heads or will I need to replace those as well?

Can I keep the coolant tubes with this one like you can the LS6 or is the crossover tube a must with the FAST design?

Ok thats about it, thanks for any help

ok i will try my best to answer all your questions.
most of the stuff you can get from fast or look on ebay.
valley cover bolts I got from ebay not really a fast only thing but they are a hex head bolt.
I wouldn't reuse stock gaskets the ones from fast are a little beefier
you can keep the stock tubes but you gotta kind of smash it lol and be careful you don't crack the intake or buy the ls6 cross over and block offs. i had to do the same thing you are doing but i found a whole kit for it on ebay give it a look. hope i helped a little

cool thanks, i have been reading conflicting answers all over the place so I just wanted to make sure. some posts say you can use the tubes, some say you have to block them. some posts say you have to use the FAST specific gaskets. Some say you can use even Felpro ones. Since I have a set of those already NIB I guess I can use them instead. I will look at ebay for bolts. I appreciate the help. Now I just need to get home from the desert so I can get it ported and installed.

Don't use hex head bolts for the valley cover. As I remember they were socket pan head. FAST has the installation instructions and parts list on line, just download the list for the bolt type. They are not specific to FAST.

Yes but the FAST would be preferred although I thought I read they were no longer available. The FAST gaskets are stiffer.

I prefer the stock bolts. The FAST bolts always rusted and look like crap after some time.Just re-use the stock intake bolts.

Not sure this is clear. Block-off's in the rear, cross-over in the front.

You can pick up the m10 button head socket cap screws at your local Fastenal or Graingers. I'd go with A2 stainless so it doesn't rust.

You can also consider running a coolant crossover in the back as well to help keep #7 cylinder cooler. All you need to do is run a heater/coolant hose to the front and "t" it to the front crossover somewhere. That way you get the needed room under the manifold without having to ditch the coolant lines going to 7&8.

do you use two of the front crossovers and connect them?

Yeah pretty much. Just make sure you double check clearance on the FAST. You may have to bend the crossover tube a bit once it is mounted so nothing hits it.
