OK - I don't get it. I had an AFE intake and filter on my 01 Z. Took that off to try a blackwing filter with the sotck airbridge.
Everything is bolted up nice and tight but with the blackwing I noticed the air hose and the filter gage seem to have not as a snug fit as they could. The grommets that come with the filter don't seem to makeit air tight.
So with that said, if I'm crusing anywhere between 50 and 60, and but her into neutral, the rpms go down and she stalls.
Now if I"m crusing at about 25 or 30 and put her in neutral, no stall.
Is there a hole cut into your radiator shroud from a previous type CAI?
If so, it needs to be covered/blocked off.
Good luck.
I don't have any holes in my radiator shroud, but I do have a screen for my front license plate. And the plastic behind the plate is cut out to allow more air in.
Whenever you make a change to the incoming air flow--It changes your fuel trims---The ECM typically needs 50-75 miles of PT driving for them to learn out--However if the learning goes beyond +/- about 20% the ECM wont be able to correct it and you will eventually get a rich or lean code---Most likely your trims are way off--You can check them with most any scanner that reads data in "real time"But you will need a tune to make permanent corrections---Unlearned LTFT fuel trims will make the engine either stall/die or surge

I have driven her over 100 miles since install. I disconnected the battery this morning, in hope that the computer will reset itself and adjust to the new filter. If that doesn't work, do u think a tune at a dealership is a good idea? Or should I just by a scanner and do it myself?
The dealer can only flash "stock "tunes into your ECM---With your mods you need to tuner that uses HP or EFILIVE-----A scanner as I mentioned can only READ data but cannot make changes to the ECM's tables that you would need
Did it run correctly with the old setup? If so, you're getting extra air into the system from somewhere with the new one. Find your air leak and it should be ok. Just replacing a "cold air intake" shouldn't change the air tract enough to require a retune or cause stalling issues like you're having if it's properly installed.

Exactly. Having the opening in the shroud wont make the car run that way. Ive had my setup for years and havent had those problems. What I have discovered though, if you have a de-screened MAF, that would be an issue. Also if you have a air hose not pluggedup/seated that could be a reason as well. lots of Vette owners have similar setups such as mine and yours with the license plate mod(which is pretty cool) and running Blackwings and Haltechs without a problem. If youre MAF is descreened, that could be it. Good Luck.
