Default Service ABS and other problems

My Service ABS, Traction Control, and Active Handling indicators keep coming on. But only after it rains. I keep my 2001 Vert under carport and keep it dry. But never the less, after it rains, I drive it the next day and the same service light pop up. What can i do to stop this? It drives me crazy and it worries me to drive it like this.

Mine have been coming on every time I drive the car for over a year. I hate to take it to the dealership before I've at least tried to fix it myself and I just haven't had the time. I haven't experienced any other problems as a result of driving it this way.

Is this message normal because I get the same message saying "Service Traction Control/ Reduced Engine Power". But I turn the car off and back on, it runs normal. I clear the message with the reset button, but I'm worrying if it's serious or something minor like a sensor.

Mine started doing it after a FAST intake and LS2 TB were put on. I am not sure if there is a relationship there or not. But I am getting alot of codes though the ones that seem to matter the most are:

U1301
U1255
U1040
U1016
U1064
U1176
U1088

I was told it was a data link issue..???

It's weird how the car runs normal once you restart it. The enginelight stays on, but car runs normal. Then a few minutes after, the engine light disappears and no message shows anymore. I noticed this message 3 times since i bought the car 8 months ago. Can this mess up the car or engine in the future?

8VETTE7, I checked the wheel sensor plugs, and they all look perfect.

And I don't have anything to pull the codes and check them. What do you recommend?

Ok 8VETTE7, I will have to wait till those warnings come up again. They usually come on after it rains. Thing is, Theres no rain in sight. I guess i could go wash it down and see if that works.

Yes, I had a battery I had to keep charging. I had a new Double Din Radio installed and thought it was bringing the battery down. I later had it tested and found out it had a bad cell. I have since replaced the battery, and no more problem. This was several months ago.

That DIY fix might come in handy. I Believe it will happen again soon. And Thanks for all the help. I really Appreciate it.

Relay in the EBCM, www.absfixer.com can repair this or you can do it yourself if you can solder.

I've had the same problem on an intermittent basis for some time. I've checked the codes, checked ground connections and replaced a questionable battery. Last week after being forced through some very rough road construction the dreaded "Service ABS, Traction Control, etc." alarm came in. It has been constant and is the only code (C1214 H C) that will not reset. I've bought a 25watt soldering iron as I felt the 100/140watt gun was a little too much and some high silver content solder. I'm heading down with jacks and timbers so I'll report back if I can locate any survivors.

Tuesday evening I removed the EBCM on my '02 to inspect for cold solder joints as outlined in previous Forum posts. Using various combinations of extensions, drivers, swivels, etc. on my T20 Torx bit I was able to remove the module. Again, as others have mentioned, getting the unit apart without doing additional damage was a big concern. Wednesday evening I attempted to redo the solder connections without doing any damage which was especially tricky since they all looked good. I reassembled the EBCM and buttoned everything back up last night. This afternoon I fired it up and all alarms cleared. After making several stops, everything is working as hoped. Now it's just wait and see if I actually fixed something or it was just a temporary reprieve.

Thanks to all who have gone before me.

Okie

Default Finally Fixed the Problems

Ok, Finally had time off from work to work on the Vette. I looked for the relay at that Digikey website. But they had NONE. It took me about an hour searching the web for someone else that sold that relay. Finally came across Newark/Element 14 (www.newark.com). Found the relay T7NS5D1-12 price:$1.61 each. Delivered in 2 or 3 days. Worked on putting the relay in, soldered it in, following the steps in the above reply, installed, Worked Perfectly. Uninstalled to reapply Silicone and seal. Installed next day, All is well. Thanks to all for your help and guidance. Hope this new website helps others with there relay. www.newark.com
