I am doing an engine swap, Ford engine into a 30 year old Volvo and need a 65 psi fuel regulator other than a fuel rail device. Got a clue that somewhere around 2000 the Corvette used a firewall mounted regulator/filter. A quick search on this forum seemed to verify that but am unclear if it is 65 psi and none of the parts stores have any information. Computers have eliminated personal knowledge from parts/repair folks. Even a GM tech couldn't tell me the fuel rail pressure.
Can anyone point me to a firewall mounted 65 psi fuel regulator? I don't need another filter.
Hmmmmmmmmmm,,,,, There are several C5 Corvette Fuel pressure reg configurations and NONE of them are fire wall mounted. The 97 & 98 C5 had the regulator that was mounted directly in the fuel rail corss over pipe.
99-2000 had a tank mounted regulator and 2002-2004 have a regulator built into the fuel filter which is mounted on the inside frame rail back by the fuel tanks.
Heres a very good write up that shows BOTH regulators/filter~regulator
The C5 fuel pressure is around 58 PSI. and drops down when vacuum reference is applies.
