I have a 99 coupe with a no start issue. I have done all the checks and have a question in regards to the TDR relay. When I have the key in the run position and jump the red to purple wires the car starts then dies. My question is, is that what I'm wanting. The problem i was having was the car will engage the starter then stops. It does not stay engaged long enough to fire the car off. I have replaced the old battery and the starter so I know it's not a starter issue or a battery issue. I have cleaned the ignition switch per Bill and the TDR is where I am at now. Yea it's a little *** backwards but when I was "tapping" the starter I hit the small ground wire above the starter and broke it so while I was there I change the starter. I have long tubes so it made since to change it then. The battery was taken to oriely's and checked. (it showed bad) so I replaced the battery with a optima red top so again here we are still no start with out the jumper. Please let me know if this sounds like the TDR.

You need to pull the codes using the dic and post them. That will give you a better idea of what is going on. Here is how: http://www.c5forum.com/ayc/dtcdic.php
I know you might have allready tried this but did you check the ignition lock cylinder. You have the resistor key and if the car doesn't get the right resistance it won't start. If you pull the codes it will tell you. I broke the sensor on mine and I had to get a new one.
Were these codes set after you replaced the battery? Sure you have good power now? I would think a bad tdr would set a code. I have always been told if the car starts with a jumper in place you need a new relay.
Yes codes we're prior to the battery. I thought the same about the jumper so I picked up a new TDR from the dealer today. I will put it in tonight when I get off work and repost after I find something out on it.
Ok now I'm really stumped. The new TDR did not change anything. Yesterday the car started right up and sat in the driveway running fine for 30 min. Before I took it for a drive. It made it a block and just died and didn't want to start back up. Today it just barley engages the starter again then nothing. I could be wrong but the clutch safety switch being bad would not have killed it with it already running right?

I have the ignition switch out and I am checking everything. The key pellet is homing out the same as the pig tail on the switch. The ignition switch itself is reading 0 ohms on all pins except in the run position and there are two pins that look like shorts on the meter. I can. It post pics from my phone but I can email them if someone would look at them for me or post them for me.
