I'm about to pull the trigger and order new C6Z06 shocks from GM Partshouse for my coupe. I have talked to my Chevy dealers about disabling the F45 with the Tech II, but after talking to them, I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling that they can really do it successfully. So I have decided to go the Simulator route first (and try disabling later).
My question is directed to those who have gone the simulator route-how reliable are the simulators. I also read from the ads (several different sources), that they are supposed to be a "plug and play" installation. However, reading the instructions from the Mid America product, it tells you after installation to cut a blue wire to prevent possible error codes? I don't like the idea of cutting any wires.
I went the simulator route a couple years ago when i replaced the shocks on my 98. There has been zero issues with the units i purchased from southern car parts. Just plug in the units top and bottom and zip tie up and away from everything, no need to cut blue wire i see. You may want to throw the question to the forum regarding what shocks to purchase. I have had great performance with bilsteen shocks , depends how you like to drive . My choice is for them , same price ,better quality

Thanks for the info. Everyone seems to recommend the C6Z06 shocks as the way to go. Great price too. Under $300 for the set.
over the past 6 tears I've installed Radio Shack resistors in 4 different
C5's.
Still waiting for the first failure or problem.
Do a search on "F45 resistors". A LOT cheaper and they work just as good.
