Battery/Electrical Fault??
Yesterday I installed a new AC Delco Professional Series Group 78 7YR battery. When disconnecting the old battery negative terminal & again when reconnecting the new battery negative terminal, the connection sparked, even though everything was off, even the underhood light. Everything seemed fine afterward, battery charge indicated 100 % on my charger meter. I attached my Battery Tender Plus, but even after charging all night, I still only have a flashing green light, indicating a charge level greater than 80% instead of a fully charged indication -- steady green. Do I have an open circuit??

Inital spark is from all the interior lights coming on, the headlight motors trying to re seat the headlights in the LOWER position and what ever else the BCM powers up when it not in the sleep mode.
After 10-12 min, the BCM turns everything off and you will /should see a 20 milliamp constant current draw if the electrical system is working correctly.

THANKS GUYS! 8VETTE7 you were absolutely right about being patient. It took about 30 hrs, but the light finally went steady green this evening! Must not have been 100% charged like I thought. And MR CURLEE -- I found your post about how to check for excessive current draw using an amp meter connected in series with the negative post and the battery's negative cable. I really appreciate the help!!!
