can anyone help me out? I'm looking for the section in the service manual (1999) that covers the ignition switch, mostly I'm looking for the wiring schematics, such as where this schematic and all of the other ones related to the ignition system are found:
that one above I snagged from Bill Curlee's excellent post about fixing the ignition switch. I've never had so much trouble trying to find what I'm looking for in the shop manual, for some reason this one is really hiding from me.
I know the page numbers are different from year to year, but what section do I need to be in?
Don't know what you are looking for and why---BUT if your looking for a igniton switched 12V lead -- ( for addition of accesories like stereo etc) It's the large diameter BROWN wire just under the swithch-
Not clear what your looking for, the ignition switch is in the above diagram.
Thanks for replying! I guess I wasn't clear...
I'm looking for that section in the manual, where that diagram came from. That shows me the starter circuit which is good, but I need the rest, the circuits for the ACC, run, ignition. PASS key resistor, key present sensor. Basically I'm looking for the schematics and the pinout diagrams for the ignition switch. I assume they are on the pages adjacent to wherever the above diagram came from, but I can't seem to find it in the book anywhere. I found the switch replacement instructions, but the electrical schematics and the switch pinouts were not in that section for some reason.
Thanks! That's most of what I was looking for. I think I see the challenge with this, the ignition switch is part of so many different systems it seems that its schematics are all over the place. But this is the most important one, power distribution.
thanks much!
