Thanks.

Rick369, I was just wondering if he was aware of the problem with the AC Delco unit. After 1 day, the AC Delco unit went out on 2 different occasions in my car.

I put the brass one in last night; So far so good; When I pulled the 1 day old AC Delco out and shook it, it rattled like crazy. Amazing.

No he wasn't aware of the problems with the AC Delco unit. Since he has owned his own auto repair shop for the last 3 years, he hasn't had the opportunity to work on many corvettes. When he worked for GM, he worked on GM products only. Now he works on every make and model. His business is located in a small community and is 35 miles away from any major metropolitan city. His business is great and he always has a backlog. I need new front sway bar bushings and bought them last week Thursday. I even have to wait to have him install them because he is so busy. I guess paying customers come first and Dad has to wait in line. He will be installing them tomorrow.

Hahahaha. Ok fair enough; Well 2 days now and the BWD oil pressure sensor seems to be working just fine. It's already out performed the 2 ACDelco units I installed previously.

Keep us updated periodically on how the BWD sensor is holding up.

Mine has been going strong for nearly 3 years and 30k miles. Was one of the first things I fixed on the car.

There are a few ways to achieve this which you will read here: 1. to remove the intake manifold to gain access to the failed oil pressure switch, 2. cut a hole in your plastic panel above the oil pressure switch so you can access the old one and replace it with a new one. I chose to relocate the oil pressure switch and the mechanic was able to connect the old harness connector to the new oil pressure switch without cutting any holes or removing the intake manifold. I left the old oil pressure switch in place since it was not leaking. In my case the relocation kit I purchased from a company in LAs Vegas (Scroll through this thread and you can identify him or others) and it came complete with everything including a new oil pressure switch and plug to insert into the hole where the old oil pressure switch was located. Some folks will recommend the removal of the old switch because it may leak eventually. Mine never did leak but when I had the manifold pan/tray gasket replaced, I had it replaced with the plug then (no cost). The relocation kits work really well and if the oil pressure switch ever fails again it is a real easy replacement task. My mechanic must have had small hands to be able to reach up and connect the old harness connector to the new oil pressure switch. Otherwise, the alternative #1 and #2 would have had to be performed. I would have elected (if necessary) to remove the intake manifold instead of cutting a hole in my plastic panel. I think the cost was about $150 for the kit and probably about the same for the installation. Hope this helps

I want to sing all of you a song about replacing the oil pressure sending unit. If your happy and you know cut the fire wall. If your happy and you know it cut fire wall. If you don't have 350 dollars to spare and oil switch has gone a little weird If your happy and you know it cut the fire wall. Trust me
