Good day everyone. I have a 98 coupe and will be installing a pair of 243 ls2 heads, ls6 cam, trunnion on stock rockers, and PAC 1218 beehive springs. I will also be installing a supercharger as well as a few other supporting mods.
Was thinking about picking up some chromoly pushrods but was curious if the 7.400 would work well of if I would need a different size?
If your lucky 7.4 will work, but you could read on Google for days about guys that 7.4 didn't work. It's part of the mystery. 7.4 worked perfect for me, good luck.

Why guess? Buy a pushrod checker, and install with confidence.
Why go to the effort and expense of a cam swap only to put a stock LS6 cam in? Let that blower breath with some more valve duration & lift... Yes the LS6 cam will be an improvement over the LS1 cam, but why stop there?
Back to your original question. If you are spending $5,000+ on a blower and head/cam upgrade, don't you think it's worthwhile to buy an adjustable pushrod checker so you can verify what your particular combination of parts needs?
Well, I am having a lot of mods installed and really need to haveall parts ready for install.
Does not matter!.
No matter how many engines Erik at HKE builds that are 100% the exact same he always measures the intake and exhaust to determin what length is needed. Math will only get you so far .. you need to measure to do it properly

I will talk to my installer and see if he can take the time to measure and I will just order the rods after the fact.
To answer chevy406's question...I am installing an ls6 cam because that was what Arun and myself came up with. We had discussed blower cams but since I live in the wonderful world of California SMOG control and will not be adding headers, he felt it would be pointless to go with anything more than an ls6 cam (and a waste of money).
Arun is well respected on the forum and I took his advice.
What you could do is measure and then re-assemble with stock until the new ones arrive. However, new pushrods arrive very quickly and Manton is in CA as well and he does custom lengths. I would personally go with 11/32" Manton pushrods to stiffen things up especially since you are going FI. Hardened pushrods do not stiffen the valve train, you need a larger OD to do that.

You really need to take this approach. I told the person I got my cam from everything that I was doing, all the way down to the LS7 lifters, .040 head gasket, and even the millwork that had been done to the heads and was sent 7.425 rods. When I measured I needed 7.350 rods. Had I just thrown in the rods that came with the kit I would have bent things for sure. Measure.
