Does that one have an oil cooler or tranny cooler in it as well? It looks identical to the one that Doug Rippie sells with their oil filter relocation kit which I run on my car...
How much was just the radiator/cooler if you dont mind my asking?
It has an integral oil cooler. The brakcet in the lower left corner attaches in to the oil filter bracket.
All my research led me to this one instead of the DRM radiator.
If it has the integrated Oil Cooler, then it is the EXACT same one that DRM sells. When you order it from DRM, it even comes int he RON DAVIS RACING RADIATOR box with the sticker. I think DRM just packages it and sells it with some AN fittings, braided hose and the oil filter relocator. Either way, I have one on my car and LOVE it! It keeps things nice and cool on the roadcourse, even with my big cammed superstroker!
Update on the Ron Davis Radiator:
Installed this weekend. The adapter piece shown in my earlier post goes to the oil temp. sending unit insert which is abount half way up the block on the left side. The oil lines come out of that, around the front of the engine down by the front sway bars and up to the inlet/outlet on the radiator. ( The picture has teh radiator upside down, oil inlets are in teh upper left corner.) Oil capacity goes up to a full 8 quarts. So far with some pretty hard street driving w/ a/c on during the middle of the day the engine oil temp is a cool 215 where before I would be over 235.
Is this a standard kit they sell with all the parts shown? I like the idea of having the oil cooler built into the radiator so you don't have the coller hanging in front of the radiator. What was the kit p/n? Cost?
You have to order the radiator with the installation kit. It took them about a week to get all the parts that you need for installation. If you have any questions, call Tom at LPE ph 260.724.2552
Took the car out yesterday evening and really ran it hard - the oil temp. never got over 189 degrees. That was cool.
