Had the cops at my door at 4:30am because my horn was blaring on my 03 coupe. This is my first corvette, which I've only had for a month and this is the second time this has happened. The other time was 6am when my wife opened the garage door it starting going off on it's own. This is NOT the alarm, just the horn with a steady blast! I had pulled the relay and fuse after the first incident and had only put them back in yesterday to get the car inspected. What would cause it to go off all by itself? Anybody else ever have this problem? What is the common fix? Needless to say, the relay will stay out til I get it repaired, but don't like not having the horn. Very frustrated! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
its the horn membrane.......there are a couple of threads here on the forum that tell you where to purchase the membrane $60-$80
(GM will not sell you one) and there is also a thread with pics with the procedure on how to replace it.....you have to disable your air bag before/while you do this.
The dealer will only replace the entire airbag/horn membrane as a unit for aprox. $1200.00
my 04 is/was doing the same thing....I pulled the relay and for now I rely on flipping folks off that would typicaly get/deserve a good horn blast !
UPDATE: Bought a new horn membrane/switch from Corvette Central for only 59.95. Got it shipped to my door in only 2 days and was a breeze to install. Took about an hour with the longest part being the trimming of the rubber that holds the plates in. One bit of advice I would give is after reinstalling the 4 bolts that hold the airbag in, don't try to re install the airbag assembly with the two bolts thru the backside of the steering wheel. The bolts can be screwed back into the back of the airbag plate and then the whole assembly can be pushed back into place. You will know it is set as you feel it and hear them click in. Trust me, the bolts are a PITA to try to get started otherwise. Thanks for all the info that made this a an easy and cheap repair. P.S., my neighbors also thank you!

My wife had the horn stick on while driving away from church last week. Needless to say, she wasn't very happy since I was not with her due to a Sunday job.
I ordered the part on eBay from VettePros.USA for $59.99 with free shipping. Fast ship and part is perfect.
Used the instructions in the above link. Pretty simple. Took less than an hour to replace.
