My 2000 A4 coupe has a vibration damper bolted to the diff. A small dumbell looking thing with a rubber center support.
Was this used on all cars? Or maybe just the A4?
I am adding Poly engine mounts as well as a poly diff mount and wondering if the damper is still needed. I can try it on or off, but just wondering if anyone has any experience with this.

Ron, I would advise against removing the damper it's tuned for the driveline second order frequency, if mount tuning could have fixed it GM would have done it rather then installing heavy weight.
You are correct! I will be drag racing and maybe autocrossing the car. As well as DD when it isn't raining.
At the same time, I will not be throwing away the stock parts either!
This is my first Corvette.

The PHADT mount is quite impressive.
Whole different deal than a poly replacement for the stock unit.

I think you're really going to like the improvement in performance as well! Your right, it's certainly not just a stiffer poly piece!
We do recommend removing that balancer when installing our C5 Diff Mount. The balancer was tuned for a specific frequency, and as mentioned above if you're changing that system enough through the use of Poly it's likely not going to make a difference in NVH.
If you're working with a stock car there is no reason to pull it out. If you're modifying parts anyway there isn't a reason for it.
