i was wondering if there is anything on my 98' that i could do for cheap or free, that would boost my preformance? or if there is anything at the local auto parts store i could but that would help my cause. thanks in advance.
If you haven't pulled the cats...Do it!!:yesnod There is H.P. and torque in those restrictive pipes..not to mention a great rumble through the exhaust. :smash:
what should i do with them after i get them down? leave them off and find another peice of exhaust tubing to fil the gap. ive already got 02 simulators so no problem there. thanks
I poted this in a few other threads in this forum, but here it is again:
This past weekend I Swiss cheesed the stock airbox on my '01 vert by drilling a whole bunch of holes in it (the holes are 7/8" for anyone wondering). I can't prove a damn thing, because I don't have timeslips, dyno data, or even a G-Tech, however, as I was driving around this weekend after the mod, the engine sure did seem to reach the redline a lot quicker than before the mod. I hit the redline more this weekend than I had the whole year up to this point, and up until now I've been pretty good about shifting just shy of redline. Perhaps I was just over zealous, hoping to have found a few free ponies, but I think I've got a little more top end than before. I can't wait to replace the stock filter with a K&N (on order). I can always bring some duct tape and my stock filter the next time I go to the strip...in fact, I think I'll do that to see if I can get some slightly scientific data. I will of course keep the forum posted.
Do note that I also removed the MAF screen, which in theory would help the high end airflow as well.
Both mods are free if you have a screwdriver and a drill. You don't even need a screwdriver to mod the airbox.
i just talked to ernie and they said the only thing they have would be an x-pipe that i could weld on is there anything else that i could do without having to weld anything else on thanks.
I think Ernie is losing it....Call Robert of Florida Performance(954-491-1012) and tell him I referred you...He does all the welding for me..AND Ernie..he has the setup! Tell him...You want the same setup I had BEFORE my headers..He will know! It includes the x-pipe!
Free Mods huh...Okay listen up carefully this gets real techinical.
