GM really turned their back on 2000 and down owners. How can they not offer a part to fix this problem?

Good question. I think you should write GM customer service...and find out for the forum.

It is definitely frustrating I am hoping someone can figure out how to interface the new EBCM into the earlier C5 with an adapter plug of some kind that would change what ever voltage differences there were. I saw that now they have figured out how to make the new TPMS sensors work on the 97 to 2000 I am hoping that is just the start of people a lot better with electrical that me figuring out how to do the same with the EBCM. I have been looking for a JL4 V code for my car for over a year with no luck. I have a beautiful car that I have invested thousands of dollars in that I can't fix and no help from the manufacturer. I wish I would have known about the forum before I bought my Vette I would have got a later one.

Yeah you have to put all the components from an 01 in, receiver, tpms, and key fobs

I know it will probably never happen but I can always hope that someone will figure out a way to fix them. I was hoping that the manufacturer would maybe start to make them again. But you are right there is not enough demand especially for mine with the JL4 option and the original ones are defective anyway. It makes it hard not to be angry at general motors..They built a defective car and left all of us to deal with it...But then they want us all to keep buying there product...

It is out of a burned car. I don't think he has another one but you can check...Marks Auto Repair Buffalo NY...1-800-866-6275....Good luck I just saw a JL4 that came off of a 1998 on ebay that said it was good right after I bought mine. I think it was 400.00 with free shipping,it was a JL4 V code but the part number was different than my 2000 not sure if it would fit a 99 or 2000

That doesn't look too complicated. I'm surprised nobody has been able to find a fix.

Defective, the car is over ten years old. I am guessing that this problem is just beginning to show up. I don't think any car lasts forever.

Update,

The 2000 that I am working on had the service abs, traction control, active handling message along with the lights on. It set a code c1217 so I thought it was going to take the module with the V code which is very hard to find.

Turns out the maxi fuse for the abs in the fuse box under the hood was blown. I replaced it cleared the codes and no more lights or messages. I have been driving it all day and everything seems OK.

Something blew the fuse, probably a stalled pump-don't get TOO happy yet. Go out next wet day and try to engage the ABS/TC and then see if the gremlin returns.
