Sounds like water got into a wire bundle or the motor. With any
luck, when it dries out it will work fine. I would try and track down
where water could be getting in.

I know exactly what the problem is!! You have dirt/small leaves in the drain hole where the wiper motor is causing the water to backup and short the motor out..
Take the cover of the wiper motor and remove the motor. Use a clothes hanger to free the clogged holes. :cheers:
