Default C5 Base Oil Pressure Question

When on my way down to the parts store this morning I noticed that my oil pressure was running at 130 psi at both idle and while driving. This doesn't sound right, but I'm comparing against what I know from working on older Chevy small blocks, so thought I should check with the experts here.

Is this normal oil pressure for a base C5, and if not, what do you think is wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Great! Something else to fix lol. Thanks, I'll check that thread out.

Edit:

Wish I'd known this was bad before I reassembled the valve covers and coil assembly. Oh well, I guess I know what I'll be doing tomorrow....

Oil pressure sending unit and you wont have to remove those things to replace it.

Yeah, I found the video that shows how to remove the sensor without removing the intake, and just got back from picking up the part from O'Reilly's. It just would have been a little easier to get to with the valve cover and coil assembly out of the way. I got the BDL sensor because it's the only one they carry that has a lifetime warranty, so if it does happen to go out again I won't have to pay for the part twice. Thanks.

Do you have a link to something that explains how this is done? The coat hanger thing is a pretty neat trick, and kudos to whoever came up with it, but it's still a PITA.

Until then I'll just make sure to keep a wire coat hanger "hanging" around.

I managed to get the old sending unit out and the new one in and working. Oil pressure is right on the money at around 38, but whoever said that was a 10 minute job must have hands the size of a 10 year-old's lol. Mine did not fit and I ended up breaking the nipple off the breather hose right at the passenger side valve cover, which is the hose that runs behind the intake and just above the sending unit to the other valve cover. I sure hope those nipples are sold as a separate piece....
