Default C5 cooling fan controller

When I shut off my engine the cooling fans turn off as well, even if the engine is still hot. I'm trying to find a way to keep the cooling fans on after I i turn the car off, so the fans run until the engine is reasonably cool (180 or less). Anyone know how to do this?? My VW does it!

You need software i changed mine through hptuners software. If you don't have or know someone that has software then you have to bring to a shop. Simple.

While still a good idea, running the fans without the engine running does little to cool the coolant in the actual engine. By design, the radiator will dissipate heat much quicker than the engine when in idle mode.

Now, all that said, for track-use, you are SPOT ON ! Get that heat out of the radiator so that when you re-fire the engine it is getting cool fluids to make for a cooler, denser aire charge as well.

By the way, I think the "Cool It" fan controller that is offered here on the forum has an option to do this.

I had mine programmed to do that but after the last tune that was changed and now it is off again...
