Just returned from the open road race in Nevada... The Silver State Classic race had 39 Corvettes entered in a field of 159. Lotsa C-5's. Some of them had exceeded 200mph. I went 155mph and was amazed at how fast you run out of real estate when you chew it up at almost 3 miles per minute. My car worked perfect. Thanks to the guys at Xtreme Motorsports and Ed Wright. What a quality grass roots event. For details about this 90 mile open road "rally" event, visit http://www.silverstateclassic.com.
We here in Louisiana do not have any road race coarses but however I can tell you that 155 seems very fast with the coupe top off!!! On top of that holdeng a video camera in one hand and driving with the other. No I am not mental !! Driving 180+ gets scary for me!!!

 :bs
want to do it to....but no V1 yet.
The only thing a V1 will do for you at 160mph is tell you that you will be going to jail soon.
Hi all,
I got a little courage up late one night on a freeway here in Vegas and got her up to 150 with my coupe's top off. Damn, I couldn't hold my hands up in the air, above the top of the car, the wind resistance was so great. What a cool feeling, though! I had no fear of the car going outta control, as it felt as solid as riding a rocket! :D
I've done some high speed cruising myself and can conferm it is quite a rush. I want to do the Silverstate one of these days as well.
Congrats,
