So towards the TB, as it is installed that way. I know, dumb question Lucky. I'm glad you replied. I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting rich codes, and stumble between 2-3k RPM's on 03 Z with 17k miles, Vararam, headers, hi-flow cats, and mail order tune? Any ideas Lucky? Is it getting too much air with the Vararam, and PCM compensating with too much fuel? Thanks for any help...

Too much air would precipitate a lean code. A few things can cause a rich condition, with the tune being an obvious first. High fuel pressure, a restriction in the air intake(duct, filter, etc.), MAP sensor, fuel in the crankcase. If both banks are throwing codes, then you have to look for what effects both sides.
Yes it is throwing rich codes for both banks. I just changed the oil, and it had good fuel odor, but it seems they all smell like fuel when you change the oil? The mail order tune leans it a bit, so I'm told. I have my tuner coming to plug into it tomorrow I hope. He should change the MAF tables?

My oil doesn't smell like fuel.....not even on my 65 L76.

Sounds like the tune is pretty rich if your oil smells like gas. Get it on a dyno with a wide band O2 reader and see where the real A/F is at.
I just went out, and smelled the oil. It smells like oil, I just changed it maybe 200 miles ago. My exhaust tips are not really black, or have soot on them. Wouldn't they if I was actually running rich. Could a faulty 02 sensor be causing the rich codes?
Not sure exactly what your question is specifically, but if the oil smells like fuel then the A/F ratio is too rich and raw fuel is getting blown past the rings and into the crankcase.

If the O2 sensors were that bad, there would probably be trouble-code(s) set.
I thought you said earlier that when you changed oil last time it did have lots of gas smell.

Thank you for explaining that....
I was told that the mail order tune actually leans it a bit. So how could I be getting rich codes? The car does stumble at RPM's between 2-3k, but when you get into it, the car runs perfectly, and idles perfect. I have not taken the air intake assembly apart, because it looks to be installed perfectly, as the PO was a sharp guy.
