I am getting ready to do my headers and I have searched high and low to find the answer to this but can I install the headers from under the car if I have it on my lift? The only thing I can find is of installs from the top.
It will depend on whose headers of course.
I have XS power and they both go in from the bottom.
A lift would be ideal.
I am on jackstands and the car is 18" in the air measured from the frame on the side. I just measured it. They would NOT go in at 16", at all.
Do you not have instructions? Or are they used headers?

they are XS and used but this what i wanted to hear I have 6 feet of clearance
Did mine on jackstands. Passenger side from the top, drivers side from the bottom. Needed about 19" of ground clearance for the lg streets. Toque has a nice write up for this install..
Installed my used "china" XS headers prior to coating. They fit excellent. And they are very high quality. I removed the air tube connections. The tube was thick and they weren't going to fall off due to vibes like some of the fancier headers have experienced.
I also cut the rear tubes in sections to add some extra round mufflers. Same story. Nice thick tubing.
Although like C5vette211 I bought mine used, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
C5Vette211, 6ft ought to do it! I'm jealous!
A tip you might not need because you have a lift. We removed all of the wiring and the starter on the pass side to get it to fit. It slid in like butter then! Drivers side practically falls in place.

This is a good idea because it'll give you an opportunity to heat-wrap the starter while it's out. The LT's will put out a lot more heat than the stock manifolds and wrapping it should help to extend the life of your starter solenoid.
Heat is the reason I'm having mine coated. Reading here I always hear about melted wiring, so I thought it made sense.
I'd like to also look into making new batt cables that have more header friendly routing.
Besides, they don't stay nice and shiny like when they were new.
You're welcome C5vette. The instructions are spot on, the XSPower headers are easy to install and great quality. Also contrary to previous info they do not hit the bell housing nor do they need bending, heating, praying over, blessing from The Pope or any such nonsense. Coating or wrapping is your call. But John at XSPpower advised me it was not necessary.
I live in Fl and we have more than our share of 100 deg. days, but heat has not been a problem. Enjoy.

Where in fl are you at? I did not plan on doing any coating. I will prob do heat sleeves on the wires and engine mounts but thats it.
Tallahassee. I did not use heat sleeves, have not had a problem. Other than the headers, z06 ti catback, LS6 intake, and Blackhawk CAI my car is stock. Have not even had it tuned yet. T'was a nice 97 degrees here today.
My XSPower had the AC line really close. I bent it out towards the frame at the compressor end. I just hooked a bar clamp in through the wheel well and tigened it a bit to pull the line away from the header. They must install from below unless you drop them in place with the heads off.

I will have to try this. I had to take a step back and hit it again tomorrow, I started breaking stuff I used the link posted above with the instructions and I didnt need to remove the coil packs and such on the passenger side. when I went to take the header out from the bottom on the drivers side I ran into some issues. so I am going to take off the drivers side coils tomorrow and just take it out the top then install from bottom. Passengers side went in like butter but I sheered a terminal on my starter when I was removing it :/ I am thinking about going back to my stock cat back does anyone know of a 3" to 2.5" coupler with flanges?
