Default express windows

I have a 97 and both my windows work great except the express down. Both sides don't work. What controls it?

You may not have an issue with the switch. Mine was operator error. As a place to start, make sure when you press the down button, you only press it long enough to make the button click (less than 1 second). If you hold the down button too long and the window starts moving, it will lower the window until you let go (aka partially open).

Hope this helps. If it does, send me the money you saved so I can buy some mods for my car.

Glad to hear it was a no cost solution. Those are the best!

I know what you mean about other cars acting different. I too was in your situation and played around until I finally got it to work.

Thanks for the update.

The way the express down was designed is a PITA. Whenever I want to open my window just a little it always goes all the way down and I have to raise it. They also should of made an express up, but hey, WTF do I know anyway.

Tip for the day: Press the button twice in rapid succession and the window will only lower a small amount and stop. It will not go all the way down. It will then be in "regular" mode and you can fine tune additional up or down to your liking.

I didn't know about the double tap trick. I'll have to try it. I just hold my button down until the window starts moving and it stops when I let go of the button. I can open it just an inch if wanted.

If I want it to express down, I tap the button and let go before the window starts moving and it opens all the way.
