Top Speeds??
Many of you guys have some very radical setups on your cars. I was just curious as to how fast you have actually driven your car[s]. Although not a C5, i have been to about 140mph in my car. :yesnod: :cheers: :seeya

i hit 160 in mine...But I'm not gonna say where!!! I had a motorcycle behind me...I was still pulling hard...radar detector went off like crazy!! I slowly slowed down as to not let that 2 wheel guy do something crazy....never did see a cop or get pulled over....lucky that time I guess....

208 corrected (217 indicated on HUD) with the 200shot pills in. Michael (Austrian Vette) has bettered this. I seem to be just 1-2 steps behind him on everything!! I will be making my assault on 10 sec 1/4mi tomorrow at PIR. My high speed run had generated some controversy here on the forum back when i did it. Many people called BS because they believe the HUD stops indicating after 199. Well, it does read passed 199. Maybe something different on the 2001 and newer cars. If you want to find out, change it to metric then hit 200kph (120mph); you'll see what happens!!

My top speed so far is around 160 mph....this was while putting bus lengths on a 2001 BMW M5 :D

Man speaks the truth. It does read past 200, on all C5 model years. After 199. it reads 00, 01, 02, and so on.

I got my 99 coupe to 172 or so and the fun stopper kicked in. I have since got a programmer and removed the speed limiter (or more precisely bumped it up to 255) but I haven't been able to get a top speed run in yet. Got close to 160 a couple times and had to back off cause I ran up on traffic. :cool:

172mph. The awesome thing about the Z06 is how when you do the 4th-5th shift at around 6200rpm's the motor is still pulling hard. I was stunned when I put her in 5th and the motor kept howling on. :yesnod:
