Default LS2 balancer on LS1

I am finishing up my cam and heads install, I noticed the GM balancer I bought is a Lil bit heavier,So I checked the part #s and under the sticker on the box it says for 2005-up (LS2) the opening for the crank is .001 smaller but that could be just the finish will this fit my 99? I am at a standstill until I figure it out. I have searched This and cannot find the info. It also concerns me that it is heavier. But will it fit without issue? I really dont want to spend $200+ on an aftermarket and my factory one is fine at 70k miles. Thanks in advance

That's the one, I noticed it is quite a bit heavier than my factory one which made me a little nervous glad to hear it worked for you. Did you use that LS1howto.com method by torquing to 240 foot-pounds with the old bolt and then replacing it with the new bolt at 37 foot-pounds +140 dg? I do have an install tool that I am going to use to seat it on as far as possible before using the old bolt first. There are a lot of posts saying that is incorrect and I could damage the threads on the crank… also a lot of posts saying the factory balancer's not good to use.. I have put over 130,000 miles on the factory style balancers in two different cars with no problems, and there are a lot of Corvettes out there running the GM balancers, this one is supposedly an improved design and maybe that is why it is heavier... thanks
