C5 coupe hatch grinding
Recently when I pop the hatch on my car the drivers side latch has been making an awful grinding noise. Still opens up fine, but honestly its kind of embarrassing. I've removed the carpeted cover and sprayed it with garage door hinge lubrication. Seemed to go away for about a week and then came back. Is there a way to fix this or should I start scouring for a used one in the classifieds?

It sounds like it might have been bent somehow. Instead of buying a used one why not buy a brand new one? Look at part number 13:
