I have been driving my 2001 as a DD for nearly 12 years and the AC has never missed a beat in 52,000 miles until last night.
I usually leave my AC Control on AUTO and vary the setting from 60 -66 degrees in the summer. I rarely turn it completely off.
Last night I was at a Drive-Thru and they could not hear me with the AC running, but rather than turning the AC OFF, I turned the dial to 90-degrees for some stupid reason? Anyway, I finally turned it completely OFF a couple seconds later. When I left the drive-thru, I turned it back on, set it to AUTO and 66 Degrees and only very hot air started blowing out of the dash. Tried turning it OFF and then back on a couple more times and varying the setting- still nothing but LOTS OF HOT AIR.
When I got home - I checked codes - ALL CLEAR.
Longshot, but I hooked up my CTEK overnight to the battery. Today, I started up the car and AC started working perfectly again VERY COLD as usual all afternoon driving around.
Did you by chance rotate the dial quickly. It has been mentioned on here in the past if you rotate the dial too quickly than that can happen. Just a thought.
Nope. Most likely, it was the ignition cycle that remedied the issue.
Hopefully that was all it was... thanks!
