One of my sensors has died and in researching I find I can either pay the stealer a small fortune, rebuild mine, or buy an aftermarket. Rebuild sounds iffy at best. I've found Schrader #20117 @ $69+ and 2 from Orange Electronics that say they'll fit a 2001, #'s SD8220 ($34)& SC3946($39). Which of these are recommended and will, in fact, work on my 2001?
Try buying new from gmpsrtshouse.com. I think you will be pleasantly surprised that a new GM TPMS sensor, for 2001-2004 Corvettes, is not as much as your aftermarket find.

GM part #25773946
Plus, they're available almost everywhere these days anyway, whether it's GM, Schrader (the OEM manufacturer for many/most car companies including GM), Orange, AC Delco, Dorman, BWD, Standard Motor Products, etc. Hell, even Summit Racing has the OEM GM units at roughly $48.xx ea under the GMPP (GM Performance Parts) line using the same GM part number.
They will all fit and work just fine.
Btw, if in doubt, any of these can be tested before installation on your wheels.
I found some instructions for rebuilding the 01+ sensors, but it looks more difficult than the 97-00 sensors. I didn't want to try it.
I went with the Schrader TPMS sensors. There were some threads on the forum that showed the original sensors disassembled and they were made by Schrader, so I think these are exactly the same sensors (except for a red plastic case instead of the OEM black ones) , but less expensive than through the dealers.
