Default Wheel hub sensor

The sensor from my RR hub has been ripped apart.

I'm getting the error code - C1235 (RR Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted)

service/trac/abs/act handling.

Is there a way to fix this rather than replacing the entire hub? Here's a pic of the damaged sensor. Thanks.

On a side note... I'm replacing from front hub this weekend. Is it possible to swap sensors somehow?

That sensor is integrated into the hub assembly... You need a new one unless you want to try to repair the wiring.

Just go to Autozone and buy a new Tiemkin hub. They are high quality and cheaper than OEM.

Your in luck... YES! They are serviceable.

The front and rear are different but both are able to be repaired.

The sensor housing is just pressed on to the hub housing and easily pops off. Clean the grease out of the sensor cap and you will have access to the circuit board/terminal board where the wires are soldered.

Get some wiring and replace the damaged wires. You can get a new PIG TAIL from GM but,,,,,,,,, they are expensive. You can try Gene Culley as he may be able to get them for less. I paid $25 for one dam pig tail!

The front and rear connectors are DIFFERENT!! Make sure to get the correct ones:

These are female connectors but you can get the male ones.

If it were me, I would de pin the old connector and repair it.

compare Bill's pics of front and rear hubs to answer questions on swaping sensor; notice the rear axle going through the hub(splines)

Thanks guys. Bill, that was just the info I was looking for. Thanks for posting pics. Question to Bill... will the sensor (part #15306302) provided in the pic above work for the rear hub since you mentioned the front and rear sensor are different?

I would be interested in buying a cap from you? Are the sensors connected?

Also, are there any tricks to removing the caps... and what was used to remove it?

The cap IS the sensor or should I say,, the sensor is inside the cap. Its just a coil of wire. The reluctor is on the HUB and spins inside the cap thus, producing the output voltage. You can see the white plastic spindle inside the cap in the picture. The coil of wire is wrapped around the spindle.

I used a screwdriver and a mallet to dislodge the cap. Its just pressed on to the HUB. Work your way around the cap tapping UP on the lip until it pops off. Make sure that you index the cap so you can put it back on so the wires line up in the correct place.
