I changed my 02's to the 04's and the ride quality improved a bit on the street but the handeling on the track improved quite a bit. I had a choice of the bilstiens sports or the 04's, and after a lot of reasearch, I went with the 04's.

And I'm looking to keep the soft ride more than anything. Most secondary roads in PA are bumpy as hell. Monroe makes a Sensatrac. Rock has em for 33 a piece. Wondering if anyone ever tried them. I'm OK with the F45 as is on tour but the creaking and squeaking is bugging me.

I tried a set of Sensatracs on my Suburban and they were fine for about 20k miles then deteriorated rapidly.

Ever consider that the creaking and groaning might not be the shocks but the swaybar bushings or end links?

I had this problem and the end links had to be tightened beyond torque specs to stop it.

I lubed the bushings real good with silicone grease when it was apart. The end links look fine with no torn boots ect. I guess I can have another look and put a wrench on everything.

I was suspecting the shocks from the reading here. Several threads where people chased this chassis squeak, replacing sway bar bushings, a-arm bushings and all came back to the F45 shocks. Most had fewer miles than mine at 72k. Only notice this at slow speeds over good size bumps.

Thanks Kooker01Z! We really do love the entire Johnny O package as it replaces most of the main wear items on your C5's suspension.

We would definitely recommend the Johnny O'Connell package for you. It's going to provide levels of performance that just can't be matched by swapping in OEM hardware.

Does anyone have any experience with the Koni FSD shocks?

First for cornering - the sway bars are the way to go. Get some used Z06 bars.

For shocks, I have gone through about 3 different types and they all were wat to stiff for me. Finally I got a set of C6 Z51 shocks for under $100 with 7K miles and they are real nice. Just a bit stiffer but not anywhere near most of the others.

You probably can find a set of stock shocks that someone took off early for cheap bucks if you want to stay stock. Otherwise, these are probably the next step up the stiffness ladder.

C5 z06 or c6 z06//c6 alittle better. For the money look for low milage forum ones. East change out. Alot of things change out on suspension. C5 z06 & c6 z06 / c6 a little tougher. Why pay alot more.

I put Koni FSD shocks on my '02 Z06. Smoothed out bumpy roads
and improved track handling. Only downside- very expensive.
I love them.
