Default clutch bleeder line insulation

. took the car for a 800 mile road trip and was getting disturbed by how hard the clutch was during the last part of the trip. The force to push the pedal was almost twice and the only reason i can find was heat. just bled the fluid a month ago with new Dot4. last week the clutch pedal went to the floor. Looks like my bleeder line burnt on the headers.

Getting new line installed next week, but wanted to find out if anyone has wrapped the line to shield it and what they used. Also, has anyone had the clutch get harder to operate after extended run times, and am i in the ballpark as far as thinking it would be from heat?

Instead of a wrap I'd use a thermal sleeve, that would slide over the remote bleeder line & I'd also protect the shorter hydraulic line at the Quick disconnect area, slave line/ Master cylinder line.
Thermal Cool It. Thermal sleeve.
part #14011
12' X 5/8"-1"

Also use the stainless steel zip ties in these areas.
I prefer the make your own length to size kit.
Snap Strap. Stainless steel, high temp tie wraps
Narrow width 5/16" to fit in tight places
Cool IT. Thermo Tec
#13001 20'. strap & 20 clips.

The products can be purchased at most speed shops or order online from Jegs/Summit.

I make my own heat coverings. If you know anyone that has a sewing machine, you can make just about anything you need. If you don't have access to a sewing machine, you can get by with a stapler,

In the Navy, we call a stapler a Swingline sewing machine. You would be amazed how good it will hem a pair of pants in a pinch.

Find a source of heat reflective canvas and some fiberglass wool.

I use a small piece to figure out how wide to make the strip. Then I just cut a long strip, place a strip of fiberglass wool in the center of the strip, fold the edges so I can staple, hog ring or sew them together and wrap it around the line or wires. I use this on my clutch line and my O2 sensor wires.

I even made a protective blanket for my starter and AC Compressor.

I just had the same problem with my car. The lines from the ticket master cylinder and remote bleeder came loose from the firewall and laid against the header tube. The ticket master cylinder line is covered with a rubber type sleeve (fire proof) there was no damage done to that line whatsoever although the braided an3 bleeder hose melted on the inside causing it to leak. I have a new line and everything is apart, the problem is that the 7/16 fitting is attached to a unioun that puts it directly between the metal of the itself so it seems there is no way to get a wrench on the fitting from either side. I'm stumped and I really don't want to take the drivetrain back out again. If I could open the hole a lil bit I could possibly get a wrench on it, I also considered welding a socket to a wrench and sliding it over the bleeder line to get to the fitting. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated..
