I fought with my Vararam for about 5 hours before finally finishing it. I have the Z06 so its a bit easier to install (since I dont have fog lights). Cut my hands up, and cussed a few times, but to me it's definitely worth the trouble... At about half throttle I hear a nice little whistle from the intake.
I want to do either the vararam or the callaway. I don't mind it being a pain to install. I just want to make sure it will look good and work properly when installed.
Oh it will work right, everyone loves their gains & performance. It looks right too, the only problem is: if you are **** like me as your installing it, you'd expect it to go ob perfect and fit oem, but the fact is that our cars weren't designed to have these tubes run in that area so it doesn't have the designated room or space to accomodate it & each car is made differently so they manufactured a mass produced piece instead of custom fabbing your own so on each car it will go in differently and not so smooth for some of us lol

Wuchu talkin' 'bout Willis? LOL . What do you mean each car is made differently? Are you talking Z06 vs. coupe?
LOL no. i mean even the same body style not every single car that comes off the line is identical, each of their fitments is a little bit different, and even their tunes differ from car to car. if you put 5 pairs of headers on 5 different cars, some of their tunes will be spot on, some will be rich, some will be lean

That is not the problem with vararam installations. Tolerances for variances in manufacturing those parts are extremely tight... The issue is that the vararam is very poorly made.

you raise a point... just like the f body world how no company could make a nice set of true duals because of such tight fitment coming y pipe factory, until kooks came out with new true duals that they took their time on and made very well and they fit awesome, their expensive but you pay to play.

Yes it is. Great idea but a rather poor implimentation.

Yeah, you'd think they would put a little more effort into the build quality as the installation issues are pretty much the only cause of hesitation I ever read about for someone considering purchasing one...
