http://www.ebay.com/itm/230426190167...84.m1423.l2649

Im looking for a ported throttle body but im not too sure about this, all i want is just a little better throttle responce and i've heard a ported throttle body would work for what I want. can anyone shed any light on this?

Cant say youd notice any difference with that.. Upgrade to a 90mm or 92mm and get a tune..

IF you do get it - you will need to have a tuner adjust the PCM start-up air demand -

Because it will jump up in RPM's and take a few seconds to come back down to normal and IF you have an A4 it will do this every time you put it and out of gear, reverse, park to drive etc!

Thanks,Matt

****, I did a way better job on my own TB then that. That looks like junk to me.. Get one, but hold out for a better one.
I ported mine out and have a larger diameter plate inside. There was no issues with the RPM or codes. I think it would be a direct swap with no problems.
Also It would not be any better to go with a 90mm TB. The intake would make no use of that. Not even the BBK 80mm is worth it IMO. I ported mine out to a true 78mm matched that to the 78mm intake. Doesn't get better then that set up for an LS1 or LS6 intake.

thanks for the info guys.

it looks like i need to keep looking for someone that is selling their ported and polished tb instead of trying to buy a half a** remanufactured tb.

or i could wait until after i get home from boot camp when i decide to cam it and put a 90mm on it and retune.

gosh adding mods is addicting

My friend,,,, that is a plain ole TB. It does NOT look ported to me. If it is,, its done very poorly. Here is a picture of one that I did in about 2 hrs for a friend. We did it on the spur of the moment before he went in for tuning the next day.

Here is a SHANER professionally ported TB:

A ported TB will NOT add GOBS of power. It will however, improve throttle response (IF) the MAF tables and air tables are properly adjusted thru tuning!

Get all your MODs on and then get a good professional tune.

I would be suspct of anyone who "fibs" that much about mods that most any LS1 enthusiast knows are false claims---- 20-25 HP ? Cm'on how can they say that with a STR8 face-- 350 added CFM ?? No way !! you can't make the bore larger or you would have to make the blade larger--makes no common sense--If they told the truth ( quicker throttle response maybe 3-6 RWHP ---10% more CFM-- I would trust them

I ported and polished mine and filled/drilled the pcv port to match that Shaner one. It can be done for about $30 and a days work. Like I said, this is the best you can do for an LS1 or LS6 intake. No larger diameter makes sense. A true 78mm ported TB will match perfectly to the LS1/LS6 78mm intake.

Save your bucks and get a FAST 90 or Fast 92 (there making the 92 again) and get a ported 90 MM. If your doing aftermarket high compression heads and a cam, it will make a difference

Thanks for serying brother
