Do you know anyone who has bought the LS1 edit for a 2002 A4 and if so how did it work. I am planning on ordering one soon and was curious how it worked.
I can't seem to find it yet, but I remember a post that said the 2002's were not ready for prime time yet. I also am ready for one!
Anyone know the status of LS1-edit ready and working for 02's ??
Yes, 2001 and 2002 LS1Edit editions are now available-- I've going to be ordering it in a while--
As far as results-- they will be entirely dependant on the skill of the programmer and dyno-tuning, not the new program---
it has the same capabilities as the earlier year versions do, so expect the same results that previous years have :yesnod:
How hard are they to program??? Are there set scripts or default setups for specific types of mods,??? Example: Blackwing-intake monotube and exhaust = setup #1.... it sure would be nice to have a setup that gets you 90% there and then just tweek and tune the final 10%.
Do I need or require a sniffer type application for the car or does the LS1 edit do that for me?
Has it really been released for sale... the locked version?
Carputing seemed to be in that "just two more weeks" mode for about a month and a half now; it would be nice if it was finally available.
I wonder if the program can handle the 95% throttle "thingy" recently discovered on the 2002 (and possibly 2001) A4?
I would like to buy the LS1-Edit, but not until it addresses this recent discovery as well. Apparently Steve Cole and others know about it, and can program it out. So one would think Carputing can incorporate that into LS1-Edit as well.
I don't mean to be leary of the company; but in the software industry there are two many promised upgrades that never materialize; or eventually become available... just half a year later than expected.
Sorry guys, I haven't had time to search the forum for these threads, but the discussion on this is very recent. It involved the PCM keeping the throttle slightly below 100% in certain instances to keep torque levels from exceeding a spec. This specific limiter is not Traction Control; but something else; and involved A4's.
When I contacted Carputing, they instantly knew what I was taliking about, said they just found out themselves, and was working on including the "fix" in the next software update.
Maybe someone involved with those threads will chime in here.
TO CONFIRM LS1-EDIT IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR 2001/2002
I RECENTLY ORDERED FOR MY 2002 C5-A4, 2001 CAMARO Z-28, AND 2000 CAMARO Z.... AND ALREADY THE ADAPTOR PLUG (OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT) IS ON BACKORDER, THEY ARE RUNNING ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS BEHIND...
ABOUT THE EASE OF USING IT, IM NOT SURE BUT I GUESS WE
WILL FIND OUT
Here is the response from Carputing about the reduced throttle "thingy":
We have just recently heard about the reduced power for the
2002 auto vettes. We have not yet had a chance to dig into that
capability. That could be an excellent choice for a feature enhancement
for the next release.
Well I hope the Powerloader II I just ordered for my 2002 A4 has taken this into consideration. My general understanding is that the Powerloader does in fact eliminate the Torque Managament. So if that is the culprit here, than I should be OK.
For you guys getting the LS1 Edit for your A4 2002's, enjoy it. I have heard only good things about it for the earlier model C5's. I am just too lazy and unknowledgeable about programming these things.

I haven't heard of this. Can you explain?
I had the dealer update the software last month.
The throttle response on down shifting is much better.
The update also appears to make the traction control less sensitive.
The "issue" with the '01 & '02 A4's is not torque management controlled. Both TTS and Fastchip know the "fix" for this and the guys at LS1 Edit are aware of it after I talked with them a while ago. They were unaware at the time and would check into it and by the looks of things should have it fixed before long. The '01 & '02 PCM's are a bit more difficult with more areas to contain parameters and controls and rules for '97-'00 PCM's are different. I went through all these issues with TTS/Steve Cole in late 2000 on an '01 Vette A4 heads/cam package and took a while to figure out.
