Just got rejected for an inspection sticker. Code PO332 popped up. I know where this sensor is located and am not wanting to pull my intake manifold. The mechanic told me that they have had success buying a new sensor and harness and mounting the new sensor somewhere in the engine compartment..by-passing the bad sensor. Anyone done this?

You can't just mount a knock sensor "somewhere" in the engine compartment. It has to be mounted on the engine itself. So rather than pull the intake, and have the issue repaired, you would rather pay a mechanic the money to obtain a new harness, and and labor try a knock sensor relocation?

The knock sensors can be relocated but I'm not sure if the old ones need to be removed. It is no big deal to pull the intake. If you have done it before it will only take 20-30 minutes. That would probably be the easiest and least costly way to address the problem.

Thanks for the reply... Didn't really want to have to do this but, guess I'll have to. Is there anything I should be aware of before starting?
Thanks, Jake
