Header shoppers-Read this
Dave

In Daves case, I believe that his LG setup has the merge collector that the 4 pipes go into which is suppose to be a real trick piece... which also means more $$$.
Also, 'your mileage may vary' as to the hp increase. The 19hp difference in the dyno above is on a modified engine where headers will make a bigger difference over stock.
I wish I had the cash, cause the LG LTs look like a winner.

That said, I think the LGM Headers are great and I would strongly consider them IF I did not already have headers.
Will post dyno #'s when I get a chance, but we WON the Mosport race, one of the biggest HP tracks in North America!

First of all, the 19rwhp and 22 rwtq increase was real, and they were back to back. The TPIS had a cross over pipe, and the LG Headers had an "X" pipe, plus our racing Merge Collectors. These collectors come with every set of headers now.
The engine that they were on was a 418ci stroker. but you can check our Darren Brown's post (Viscious)
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=314393
and you will see that he gained 22 rwhp and 24 rwtq with the LG headers.
And his car is dead stock.
And to say that any header cannot make 19rwhp over a TPIS, means that you have nerver really looked closely at a TPIS header. I know that if I make a new header system for my race car, I can lose 20hp with a minor change in length of the primarys or the secondarys Plus the collector length, diameter, and flare can make or break your horsepower. There is more to headers that one might think.
And finally, we regularly get 430 to 438 rwhp and 420+ rwtq on our G5 Cam, heads and Header packages. We never came close with the TPIS or Balangers. We are doing a car now with TTS, so we will see what the numbers are with those headers.
So David Farmer beat the best in the World Challenge, with his new engine package, and our LG Motorsports Long Tube SS Headers. He drove a fine race. He had the Torque that he needed, and did a great job. We are very happy that David Farmer and Katech engines have chosen our headers.
Have a nice day, and keep those cards and letters coming.

J,
There is a link to Darren browns dyno numbers above. And you are correct when you say that the more modifications the greater good that will come out of a better set of headers. You don't need a "fire hose" for your "back yard faucet".
