My car was lowered when it had less than 1000 miles on it.. I never had it aligned.. 43,000 miles and three years later I had 4/32 on the fronts, and 3/32 on the back.. alignment is critical to tire wear.. but as important as alignment is tire presure.. all I can say is when i lowered my car.. it brought the factory alignment more into spec.. as far as tire pressure.. I dont let my tires get over 29 psi when they are hot... weeks when the outside temps get into the 95 F area, road surfaces can get to 160 F.. this can increase tire presssure buy 6 or 7 psi. so a car set at 30 cold can get to 37 psi.. hot .. 37 is Not a good place for these run flats to be at.. most ppl who run their tires this way experience center tire wear.. When I took off my first set of EMT's they were 4/32 in the center tread as well as the outside tread.. same on the back... but 3/32.. I could have gotten 45,000 miles out of those tires
To answer your question, C5s do seem to have a "wear pattern" that will show up on the fronts as heavy inside edge wear. Mine look really bad and I am dead on GM specs for alighnment. :( :bs
Evil-Twin has a few good points there. I figure I lost $400-500 worth of tread life by following the GM recommended 30 psi cold because my centers wore out way faster than the edges. :(
Got the same thing going on at 20k....is it worth altering the alignment specs? My right front is in bad shape.

This seems to be the most common from what I've seen and heard: Rears wear in the middle and Fronts wear on the inside edges. I have a little over 30k on mine, I looks like my rears will go 35-40k and the fronts could last 50-60k

Re: Normal tire wear pattern? (HOCKEY)
I hit 20,000 miles today and no wear at all.
 Holy Moly! Must be those new Titanium tires I,ve been reading about!
Seriously though. I too have about 20 to 25 K on my Firestones and show no uneven or abnormal wear patterns. Haven't measured tread depth but still plenty o' tread groove on all four. I really try to keep a close eye on tread wear and get the alignment checked/set once a year. Gets expensive if I don't. :D
My fronts wore evenly with no unusual wear patterns. My rears wore in the center.
You guys are not having enough fun if you are getting 20K or 40k  out of your tires mine were ready to be replaced at 15k and they were toast at 17k.

Believe me that was the case with the GY's that came on the car. With 15 to 18K they were gonners.
