Default cam swap

I want to install a blower cam on my presant set up which is 04Z with a full Novi blower, headers ,meth etc. Engine has 24k on it blower was installed at 10k. I figured the cam, springs and gaskets do I need to do anything else? Oil pump, rods or can it wait till I do a forged set up?

Rods are a must...
Oil pump debatable, but a very very good idea for peace of mind.

Swap out the time chain as well.

But why not just wait to do the cam swap in general until you go forged??

Why go in twice? Do it once? Do it right?

The reason for doing it now is a good friend of mine is a head tech at chevy he strickly works on vettes and Duromax trucks and does it on the side and will do it real cheap plus I don't want to go forged until motor goes and that can be whenever. Just want to get a little more lump and power from the motor.
