Default Fuel Pulse Dampener

I'm installing after market fuel rails. Is the fuel pulse dampener on the stock fuel rail (2003 Coupe) a critical component? Most of the photos I've seen of after market rails do not seem to have this but it may also be that I can't see it.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Just a guess but I'll bet the ones you have seen are setup as a return system like 97-98 had with the regulator up front.

I think that when u do aftermarket rails, the new regulator up front does the job of the fuel pulse thing. I wouldn't do aftermarket rails if you were not doing a return system in m opinion.

Its to smooth out the internal pressure of the rails. Not sure how the injectors respond without it though. There are aftermarket versions that you might be able to "T" off the rail. Here is one that is available but not sure if will fit: Link
