Default EBCM question

It appears I will have to send my EBCM in to be rebuilt. My question is will the car still be driveable with the EBCM removed?

Also, I want to send it to Brandon Hite (absfixers.com). Has anyone had good or bad results when using this company to repair their EBCM?

Hopefully, you have a 2001-2004 C5, but yes, many of us have sent out EBCM to absfixer. I highly recommend them. You can still drive your car without the module but it may not be a good idea to do it in the rain; high humidity conditions and open electrical connections don't play well together.

Thanks for the info. Yes we have an 03. I will check the codes again to see if that is the one. The system has reset by itself twice in the last couple of weeks, but did not last long. I checked the two main grounds in the engine compartment and they are perfect. If I have the correct code I will probably not drive it while the repairs are being done. I will check on repairing it myself.

I used ABS fixer to fix my 03 and it has held up fine. It is an easy replace and I had no problems with their service.

That link that 8vette7 is the one I used to repair mine myself, I never soldered anything before so if I could do it you can do it....Heck I even fixed my door lock problem ...lol anyway you can drive it with no issues I took a baggie and some zip ties just to secure it and keep it dry, since it was rainy season and mine is a daily driver. The only thing I noticed was the steering wheel felt "heavy" Become one with your Vette

I drove mine like that for about a year before I got another one. You don't have abs or traction control working but most of my cars before the vette didn't have traction control or abs so it was no biggie to me
